You will want to expand upon this rubric for your final article/turn-in. For instance, you will want to better describe some of your terms. What exactly does "formal" mean? What gave you the idea that the articles you analyzed were formal? Also consider if, by looking at this rubric, I could tell it was a news article (obviously, if "used in newspaper articles" was not there). Would I be able to tell? What are some distinct features found in this genre? What types of topics are covered? How are quotations used? Why are they used? These are just some questions to get you started...
